AMAZING
1st LONG BLACK
Extraction - SS2, Petaling Jaya
Roaster : The Hub Beans : Ethiopia Guji Kercha Lot 2 Blew. Me. Away. This was a very fruity cup of coffee, which I really enjoy. I could detect some notes of passionfruit and berries and perhaps a hint of some other tropical fruit. Seriously, I’ve not loved a long black so much in a long time. Not sure if this is what they use permanently or if they have a rotation of beans from other origins so please do check before you order. Disclaimer - My other two companions did not enjoy this quite as much as they preferred something with less acidity. This is very much a personal preference.
PRETTY GOOD
3rd LONG BLACK
Lyfe Cafe & Restaurant, Rawang
Coffee is acceptable for someone with very particular preferences when it comes to coffee but Really Good for the average Joe. Also, special mention to the crew here who went above and beyond what a normal service staff would do. Very much appreciated.
4th LONG BLACK
Heesan Kopi, Melaka
More of an americano than a long black but it’s not bad. We just happened to pop in here, otherwise I would suggest having your cuppa at another cafe. There are like a million and one along this street.
5th SIGNATURE HOT KOPI
Loong Hwa Kopitiam 隆華小鎮 @ Puchong, Puchong
I don’t think the guy making the coffee was in a good mood today 😅.
JUST OK
6th AEROCANO
Cream Cafe ( Imazium ), Petaling Jaya
EDIT 30 Nov 2023 - it’s not so good anymore. This pains me. Damn near perfect! Using Ethiopia Bombe Gatta beans (roasted by The Hub Coffee Roasters), with tasting notes of floral, berries, melon and maple syrup. The Hub generally has very good beans but it does take a skilled barista to really bring out all the notes. And kudos to Cream’s crew for doing just that. Unfortunately this particular bean has ended its rotation at Cream, and while the current brew is still good I find that it lacks the complexity of the Bombe Gatta.
