BLEND: EL SALVADOR + SUMATRA + RWANDA FLAVOUR NOTES: RED APPLE | STARFRUIT | BUTTERSCOTCH A tri-continental blend of beans from Central America, Southeast Asia and East Africa, inspired by Prince (or the artist formally known as?) and his Crystal Ball album. The first thing that struck me with this Nespresso-compatible brew was cherry. Every sip was bursting with 🍒. As for the roaster’s suggested flavours of red apple, starfruit and butterscotch, I couldn’t quite pick them out, but to each palate their own.

Beats their Pike Place capsules.

Single origin coffee with notes of “caramel and 🍏🍎.” I wish I could dissect coffee like that, but I enjoy the overall taste and it is by far my favorite in their coffee capsule range.

BRIEF: “RICH COFFEE ROAST with hints of Milk Chocolate, Almonds and Red Cherry.” SOOT’S TAKE: I will try to (if I’m even able to) dissect the different flavor notes tomorrow with milk tomorrow, but in the meantime, it’s 8.5/10 as a lungo.

BRIEF: “A delightful espresso blend [of Ethiopian, Central and South American Medium-light Roasted Arabica Coffee] leading with a floral and fruity front reminiscent of sweet stone fruit with a delicious base of dark chocolate and caramel.” SOOT’S TAKE: It’s rare for me to enjoy more than one variety of coffee pod from the same brand, which suggests Fables Coffee might well be worth their weight in gold 💰

I don’t typically care for fruity or floral notes in coffee but this is the best of the pods I’ve tried so far.

Received this FOC on account of visiting the cat cafe booth at “Pets Social Ground 2023: A Space Pawdyssey,” my ‘liking’ their INSTAGRAM page and my looking like I really needed a cold refreshment (I was literally dripping sweat from my chin 🥵). It was surprisingly fruity (and drinkable) in a way I’d never really experienced in a good way before in coffee.

Nice. Didn’t need any sugar (a first!) but kept me unhungry for rest of day.

Probably the only coffee I'd drink black unapologetically today. Hipster coffee's too acidic for me.

BRIEF: LIGHT-ROASTED WITH HINTS OF FRUITY AND FLORAL FLAVOUR. SOOT’S TAKE: Decent tasting coffee pod coffee. 7/10.

I’ll have to appreciate the toasted bread notes some other day, but this is not a bad medium roast.

BRIEF: “A delicious espresso blend [of Central and South American Medium Roasted Arabica Coffee] with a smooth milk chocolate and caramel base, with sweet and fruity notes of candied berries.” SOOT’S TAKE: The 4th blend in their fabled series that I have tried. Belle remains queen of the ball.

BRIEF: 'Curate Signature Coffee Blend' Bean Origin: Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia Roasting level: medium. Process : Natural & Washed Flavour Profile: Caramel, Chocolatey, Creamy SOOT’S TAKE: Drinkable as black coffee (and sans sugar!), but it probably was going to be better as a latte.

BRIEF: “An enjoyable espresso blend [of PNG, Central and South American 100% Roasted Arabica Coffee] with notes of cacao and subtle hints of cinnamon spice and raisins.” SOOT’S TAKE: Less preferred to their “Belle” and “Red Riding Hood” blends , but still moderately drinkable. 6.5-7/10.

BRIEF: “RICH COFFEE ROAST with hints of Macadamia Nuts, Honey and Red Apple. This natural processed El Salvador coffee resonates with luscious nuttiness and subtle sweetness. Macadamia and red apple notes are accompanied by beautiful wild flower honey.” SOOT’S TAKE: 7.5/10

BRIEF BLEND NOTES: Toffee, Pomegranate, Lime A medium roast perfectly suited to short black, macchiato and piccolo coffee styles. INTENSITY 7/10 SOOT’S TAKE: Eminently more drinkable as a lungo than their 1820 signature blend which is designed to be served as a flat white or a cappuccino. 8/10

Preferred to Gold Colombia Style coffee.

Celebrating Coffee Day with a pour over inspired by café de olla porqué sí.

Decent.

Whatever it was, the aroma inside this coffee boutique was so amazing that I had to ask about it. “Chocolate Hill” it was called and after a few sniffs from various bins of coffee, I settled on a different but similar blend I was more partial to called “Milano Morning.” At first sip, I’ve concluded that this coffee smells better than it tastes, but that might change with a few more servings and under less stressful conditions.

Hoping this can be my wake-up cup today🤞

First time using a nespresso machine.

House brew.

Freshly baked pumpkin pie combined with all the classic spices. There were maybe(?) hints of it and the coffee was generally drinkable.

It’s pretty good in Sooty M’s books because it’s drinkable in Sooty M’s books.
