Brief: “A CELEBRATION OF LEMON! A CROISSANT STUFFED WITH PIQUANT MEYER LEMON CURD AND FINISHED WITH A GLAZE MADE FROM ITS ZEST FO A BRIGHT TREAT.” Sooty’s Take: the best croissant I’ve had in recent memory and maybe even the best ever! The croissant itself was flaky and crunchy (none of that disappointing sogginess I find in 99% of the croissants I’ve had) and the lemon curd was deliciously bright! 😋

Better than what one would expect from a grocery store pastry. While the laminated pastry wasn’t the best I’d had, it was generously-filled with a delicious pistachio creme filling. Devoured while waiting for the WAB train to Wengen.

The vaunted Salted Egg Yolk Croissant (SEYC) that had everyone up in arms when this seemingly unassuming bake shop didn't anticipate it's overwhelming popularity among locals. It's the only thing anyone at this bakery cafe seems to be eating. The constant flow of customers into this shop ensures it never has to worry about a surplus, at least not until this salty sweet trend expires. At any point in time there is a line of customers armed with trays in anticipation of the next available batch. You'd think you were part of a breadline in depression era NYC except people couldn't wait (although they still had to) to part with good money for the rationed number of 5 croissants/customer.

Warm, molten, golden salted yolk of duck flowing out of its crispy, flakey crust of croissant. This place offers the best salted egg yolk croissant of the 3 places I've tried so far. Next stop: Hong Kong!

BRIEF: ”Our Traditional croissant dough rolled with sugar and extra butter - so you get a beautiful croissant shape and caramelized dough, with all the sweetness of a Kouign Amann. Filled with a Crème Brûlée filling Crème Pâtissière.” SOOT’S TAKE: Very well-made, although it would probably have been amazing had I eaten this 2 days earlier which was when I bought it..

Limited time item. It was tasty. Glad I got to try it.

Croissant, chocolate, frangipane, almonds

Ok, one of the best croissants I’ve had in SG, and at a pretty amazing deal as well with the coffee.

Solid and appropriately flaky croissant generously filled with a lovely matcha frangipane. It was very good but also too filling for a single serving.

banana, almond cream, a generous drizzle of chocolate that made me look like a savage.

Flakiness: 👍👍 Crunch factor: 👍 Best 🥐 I’ve had in a while.

The croissants at Wayfarer are glazed and dusted with pistachio and this apple hazelnut-filled version is no exception.

Mini versions of salted egg croissants (SEC) are fantastic idea. Mini flavor bombs you can pop in your mouth without necessarily overindulging. The salted egg yolk filling in these croissants are a tad sweet though.

BRIEF: “lemon pastry cream topped with meringue” SOOT’S TAKE: Had this the day after, re-crisped in the oven. The lemon curd inside was lovely. 🍋

The tart lemon frosting complemented the cream cheese filing rather well. But this also meant the croissant could not be in an ideal crispy state.

A bit messy to eat but the pastry was flaky good.

BRIEF: “FRENCH BUTTER CROISSANT, FRANGIPANE, CHERRY PISTACHIO PISTACHIOS, SPREAD, CHOPPED TOPPED WITH PISTACHIO GANACHE AND CHERRY DOTS.” SOOT’S TAKE: I RUINED IT. Against all my instincts 😭😭😭

BRIEF: “Our almond croissant is a very seductive pastry, it takes the base of the croissant with cream and sprinkled with almonds. Happiness in the mouth.” SOOT’S TAKE: Satisfying but a bit heavy.

I was lucky enough to snag one shortly after the baker placed it in the display case so I got to have it crispy on the outside. It’s decent and that’s all I have to say.

Had to get this to go since they were out of seats. It was good but it left me halfway satisfied for its petite size. Props for pretty packaging though and I’d still love to try their coffee and chocolate croissant. Maybe 6 months from now?
