REALLY GOOD
1st TEH TARIK
Sri Bistari Cafe @ UMSC, Petaling Jaya
Nothing like a nice cuppa to start the day.
2nd HAINANESE MILK TEA 海南奶茶
Tea Garden Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru
The first one I’ve ever had that isn’t so sweet it feels your teeth would fall off. They are on The Malaysia Book of Records for “Most Hainanese milk tea sold in 2024”, that is until someone else beats them to it before the year’s up? 😳
3rd TEH TARIK
Thosai Cafe, Petaling Jaya
Appropriately bubbled 🫧
4th TAIWAN MILK TEA 丸作台湾奶茶
PlayMade by 丸作 @ Buona Vista MRT, Singapore
Got this with a 30% reduction in sugar content. It was very good.
5th TEH TARIK
Red Ginger, Singapore
I wanted Teh Halia (ginger tea) but they were out (“Teh Halia balik kampung!” exclaimed the jovial lady at the counter). This was a nice sub (not too sweet) except it was hot and I didn’t know at the time I would be craving an ice cold drink with the spicy Mee Siam. 🥵
6th HOJICHA BROWN SUGAR CREAM LATTE
Sweet Potato Factory@jcube, Singapore
Hojicha powder with Hokkaido milk, topped with copious amounts of whipped cream & brown sugar. Delicious with the takoyaki I had today, especially since my last helping was in December and it’s the first time I’ve ingested anything outside the home since April 2020.
7th 大红袍奶茶 DA HONG BAO MILK TEA
LiHO TEA @ Star Vista, Singapore
+ Brown Sugar Pearl The perfect prize after a mile-long run in SEARING heat. ☀️🥵🔥🔥
8th 黑糖脏脏奶绿 BROWN SUGAR JASMINE MILK TEA
each a CUP 各一杯 , #02-02 Singapore 138677
This was delicious and refreshing on an oppressively hot and humid day.
11th 茶 TEH
郑爷爷全蛋云吞面 Bukit Indah, Johor Darul Ta'zim
Could’ve been slightly sweeter until I realized all that sweetness had settled at the bottom and by then it was too late 🥲
12th HOT TEH SIEW DAI
Polar Puffs & Cakes | Singapore General Hospital, Singapore
When you get your tea or coffee siew dai in Singapore, it means you’re getting a less sweet version of your beverage. I shall be getting my hot tea siew dai from here on out. #WhenInSingapore🇸🇬
13th THE TRADITIONAL HAILAM MILK TEA
Hailam Kopitiam Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur
"You can literally taste and smell the tea plantations of Ceylon, and lift your spirits to the cool mountain tops in your morning cup." Hmm...
15th CHA CHAK IN PROCESS
Royal Thai Embassy, Singapore
Like Teh Tarik, tea is thrown from jug to jug from a great height, except with greater showmanship.
16th CHA CHAK
Royal Thai Embassy, Singapore
Teh Tarik done southern Thai style.
17th TEH
Cafe O, Singapore
Part of the $2.80 afternoon special.
18th 瓦煲奶茶 CLAYPOT TEA
芙蓉客娘美食坊 Seremban Hakka & Nyonya Cuisine, Seremban
I forgot to ask for less sugar but thankfully it wasn’t too sweet. Otherwise, it tasted just like teh served in any other kopitiam.
19th LYCHEE OOLONG FRAPPÉ
McDonald's Paya Lebar Square, Singapore
BRIEF: A burst of rich, fruity flavours with hints of roasted Oolong, refreshingly blended and topped with a dollop of whipped cream. You’ll love this fun treat! SOOT’S TAKE: Interesting enough to try once. Just ONCE (unless you enjoy burping floral perfume). 😷
20th TEH TARIK
Warong Nasi Pariaman, Singapore
With less sugar and better than I expected.
25th THAI MILK TEA LATTE 泰式奶茶拿铁
Cha Tra Mue, Singapore
Still thirsty after my non-refillable drink and this was BOGO, so why not?
26th NISHIO MATCHA WITH BROWN SUGAR WARM PEARLS
Tealive Aeon Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru
Great if you like matcha 🍵. I’m more of a brown milk tea kind of person.
27th TEH TARIK
Prata Alley, Singapore
Nothing like a hot cup of tea to revive... ☕️
28th 大红袍奶茶 DA HONG BAO MILK TEA
LiHO TEA @ JEM, Singapore
Literally translated, “da hong bao” means big red packet which are red envelops of cash given by married peeps to unmarried peeps during the Lunar New Year (which is right around the corner). It is also the name of a type of delicious oolong tea from China. This one had milk in it, along with brown sugar and boba: a modern take on a supposedly ancient drink.
29th TEH TARIK
Prata Raya, Singapore
Topped it off with a glass of teh tarik.
30th ชาเขียวนม MILK GREEN TEA
Cha Tra Mue, Singapore
Thai milk green tea. Very perfumed, yet strangely pleasant. And refreshing. 🏃‍♀️
