AMAZING
1st MATCHA TART
bröom Artisan Bakery & Kitchen, Petaling Jaya
A well-made tart, from the smooth, creamy, bittersweet matcha filling down to the crispy, mildly buttery tart shell. element from the other.
REALLY GOOD
2nd THE GUARDIAN’S TINNED FISH CROSTATA
Soots Cook Nook, Private
Why be basic when you can set yourself back an extra day preparing a canvas of homemade (rough) puff pastry to showcase a tin of Portuguese sardines — plus a chorus of mandolined potatoes, painstakingly sliced shallots, and a seven-ingredient chermoula, among several other supporting acts, in a savory crostata?
6th PASSION & VERBENA TART
Leckerbaer (Isetan, Shaw House), Singapore
BRIEF: “Tart shell filled with tangy passion and verbena curd with a salted caramel center. Topped with soft italian meringue and dusted with verbena powder.” SOOT’S TAKE: 👍👍
7th PASSIONFRUIT TART
Flour and Stone, Woolloomooloo
To mirror the summery brightness of the Australian sun🌞😎😋
8th MANGO STRAWBERRY TART マンゴーストロベリータルト
Fruit Paradise 和 Cafe, Singapore
Eaten informs me the first and last time I had this was ~ 1 1/2 years ago. I enjoyed this tonight as much as I did then. Glad they’ve been consistent.
10th MANGO STRAWBERRY TART マンゴーストロベリータルト
Kagurazaka Saryo, Singapore
Vacationing in Japan without crossing international borders and without the hassle of making it happen in the kitchen…
13th TARTELETA DE CALABAZA QUESO Y SESAMO
Iván Express, AAD
A tasty pumpkin tart with cheese and sesame to go for lunch the next day.
15th BLOOD ORANGE MATCHA TART
Ma Maison, Singapore
Matcha streusel, Jivara cremeux, blood orange mousse, and blood orange glaze
17th STRAWBERRY TART
Delectable by Su HQ - Designer Cakes, Parties, Desserts and Gifts online, Kuala Lumpur
Summer berries atop a chocolate tart. The ganache was good but the berries were a bit too tart for everyone's liking. Birthday tart for mom who most certainly isn't a tart.
18th FLOUR AND STONE’S RHUBARB & RICOTTA TART
Soots Cook Nook, Private
My first time messing with rhubarb and I think(?) my first attempt at a tart. The filling and the rhubarb are a lovely match but the crust needs a bit more salt and a longer blind-baking time. A bit of a process but quite fun to create. I may attempt a Pieometry Pie next!
19th PUMPKIN & GOATS CHEESE TART
Chez Dré, South Melbourne
roast pumpkin, goats cheese, onion, sunflower seeds & pinenuts
22nd PINEAPPLE TARTLETS WITH PANDAN AND STAR ANISE
Soots Cook Nook, Private
Not bad, but a tad rich and perhaps too much work for what it’s worth. The sweet shortcrust dough was particularly challenging to work with in the humidity and you had to watch the pineapple jam carefully as it cooked because the pandan leaves infusing the mix could burn easily.
23rd WATERMELON & ASAM BOI TART
MadHatter Desserts, Kuala Lumpur
The asam boi curd was interesting and had potential but the other elements failed to complement it.
JUST OK
24th ROSE TART
SQ 021, Newark - Singapore
Tart made with buttery, flaky crust and filled with rose flavored curd
25th AMERICA’S TEST KITCHEN’S RUSTIC CHICKEN TART WITH SPINACH AND BRIE
Soots Cook Nook, Private
5-ingredient lunch to dispose off some brie and pie dough before they all go to waste and to fight feeling incapacitated and completely useless in the face of so much that is wrong in the world…
