REALLY GOOD
2nd KA'U COFFEE
Big Island Candies, Hilo
Already overpriced opponent from the other side of same island, Ka'u seems to get more attention and promoted . Flavor is also not identical, actually very different. Not smooth like kona, but not quite bold either, definitely has more earthy deep flavor. Ka'u is grown in an area where volcanic activities often affect general farming/agricultures. Also the soil is mingled w volcanic sand/acid this also addyint nore original distinctive aroma
3rd DEATH WISH COFFEE
Teapresso Bar, Honolulu
I was skeptical, and a bit hesitant to try due to its claim: world’s strongest coffee. Expected thick, striong/bitter/bold one that gives a jolt. Contrary to that, it was actually smooth and (as you see, normal looking) pleasantly surprising fine tasted coffee. It didn’t give me any sudden caffeine-spike or afternoon energy-crash either.(or maybe I’ve already higher caffeine tolerance, who knows🤪). Courtesy of my co-worker who also has caffeine tolerance, she too admitted the same✌️
4th ICED AMERICANO
Nola Cafe, Honolulu
I'm not a coffee connoisseur but this iced americana def has a depth of good coffee aroma. Not bitter/bold or thick, smooth & flavorful. I had it black so it would not destroy the beignet. Good with the beignet sweetness.
PRETTY GOOD
