AMAZING
1st PUMPKIN SEED BREAD
Aloha German Bakery, USA
Hands down, the best 🍞 ever! The texture, the pumpkin seeds & flour ratio, and of course: the flavor...just so perfet! My new fave✌🏽
2nd DARK RYE BREAD
Aloha German Bakery, USA
Authentic 🇩🇪rye bread, at Saturday Kakaako Farmers Market. The bread appeared to be tiny but thick & VERY Heavy/dense. The owner imports flour from 🇩🇪 and bakes these awesome/authentic goodness here in Alohaland! The taste? The REAL DEAL, can't go wrong w/this🤙🏽
3rd SPELT BREAD
Aloha German Bakery, USA
Authentic 🇩🇪🍞 made with imported flours from 🇩🇪, dense, heavy & chewy texture, but has natural aromas that no 🇺🇸🍞 has, can't go wrong with this!
4th BLACKBREAD
Aloha German Bakery, USA
Not too sure of the name origin but it's gluten free rice bread whcih has rice flour, sunflower seeds & lim seeds in it. Rice flour is giving the doughy chewy texture, also a savoury aroma.. Wouldn't taste the usual "gluten free distinctive" flavorless block of carb, this one is totally opposite! My go-to gluten free 🍞✌🏽
5th PLAIN
Molokai Hot Bread, Honolulu
As read in the ingredients, no additives or preservatives. Reminds of me a bread rolls I had long time ago, back in when no chemicals or artificial additives were used in food. Just as simple and plain as you'd see, I'd feel & taste a real food. Nothing fancy but simply good.
REALLY GOOD
6th FARMERS BREAD
Aloha German Bakery, USA
Crusty outside & soft inside, the real bread that is not cakey like 🇺🇸 counterparts.
7th CIABATTA
Bocconcino, Honolulu
Store baked ciabatta, just sooooo ono!
8th SEED BREAD
Aloha German Bakery, USA
I am not a big fan of gluten free this & that, one particular reason is that so-called GF food are almost always tasteless/lack of flavor, also tends to be dry, makes me feel like eating cardboard. I wasn't expecting much on this either because of it. Contrary to my expectation, this "bread" turned out to be none of those, flavorful, and quite tasty, actually. Appeared to be tiny but Very dense & filling as well. If anything, bread distinctive texture would be the one. that's missing. Freezer friendly, is definitely a plus✌🏽
9th CHOKE GARLIC BALLS - PLAIN
'ili'ili Cash & Carry, Honolulu
The smell is sooooo tempting & always tickled my big 🍎longing. The naming differs depending on which part of 🇺🇸 the baker/owner originated but back in my 🍎 days, they were sold as 🧄knots. Literally(also from my understanding), these are left-over pizza dough, baked or fried & drenched in 🧄overloaded 🧈. Never a healthy food for sure but absolute confort food(for me, it is). So addictive too! Used to get it from the good ol' Anthony's in Kahala(R.I.P) which is long gone...tried some from those big corporation 🍕places but none are the same.or even closer. Ok, nuff of story, if you 🫶🏽🧄, a must try, period✌🏽
10th CORN BREAD
Sconees Bakery, Honolulu
Gotta have corn bread with chili(home made)! Sweet, buttery, moist, almost cakish texture. This can be served as a dessert by itself✌🏽
11th PARATHA BREAD
India Bazaar Madras Curry, Honolulu
Hot, chewy/gooey, buttery goodness that goes so well with curry✌🏽
12th CUSTARD BUN
Bakery & Table, Honolulu
Another old school 🇯🇵pastry. More of the weatern style, custard filled sweet roll. Sweetness is never overloaded.
PRETTY GOOD
13th MELON PAN
BRUG Bakery Kahala, Honolulu
One of interesting Japanese sweet roll/bun from old days... Outside has sweet cantalupe flavored(sort of)... nostalgic goodie✌🏽
